Language Proficiency
A1 Level: Beginner
At this level, learners can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and basic phrases. They can introduce themselves and ask simple questions about personal details. A1 learners can interact in a basic way, provided the conversation is slow and clear. Learners focus on basic grammar concepts such as simple present tense, personal pronouns, and basic vocabulary for greetings, introductions, and daily activities.
A2 Level: Elementary
Learners at this level can understand sentences and expressions related to common topics such as family, shopping, and work. They can communicate in simple and routine tasks that require a direct exchange of information.Learners continue to build on their grammar knowledge with the use of present simple, present continuous, and past simple tenses and vocabulary to describe daily routines, hobbies, common activities, etc.
B1 Level: Intermediate
At the B1 level, learners can understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar topics and express opinions and experiences, learners delve into more complex grammar topics such as future tenses (e.g., will, going to) and the past continuous tense. B1 learners can produce simple connected texts on familiar topics.
B2 Level: Upper Intermediate
Learners at the B2 level can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics. They can interact with native speakers with relative fluency and spontaneity, and participate actively in discussions and debates. Learners focus on mastering grammar topics such as the present perfect tense, past perfect tense, and different conditional structures
C1 Level: Advanced
C1 learners can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meanings. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much searching for words. Learners explore more sophisticated grammar concepts, including the passive voice, causative structures, and advanced modal verbs. C1 learners can use language effectively for academic and professional purposes.
C2 Level: Proficient
At the C2 level, learners have a command of the language almost equivalent to a native speaker. They can understand virtually everything heard or read and can express themselves spontaneously and accurately on any topic. Learners focus on refining their grammar skills to near-native levels. They work on using advanced verb forms, such as subjunctive and conditional perfect, to express nuances C2 learners can use the language effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes.
